Born in Georgia and raised on Boston’s North Shore, Dr. Moylan received her B.A. from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts and a Master of Public Health degree from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She went on to work in health care management at an HMO in Boston, and subsequently psychopharmacology research at Stanford University. She attended Boston University School of Medicine and completed a Harvard internship in internal medicine followed by a Harvard residency in psychiatry at Massachusetts General and Mclean Hospitals. During her senior year of residency, she served as Chief Resident of Addictions. After residency, Dr. Moylan worked at the McLean Hospital Bipolar and Psychotic Disorders clinic. In addition, Dr. Moylan worked for several years in the Acute Psychiatry Services at Massachusetts General Hospital which is one of the busiest psychiatric emergency rooms in the country. While at Massachusetts General and McLean Hospitals, Dr. Moylan served as clinical instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. She also worked as a Psychiatrist in the Beverly Partial Hospital Program which provides intensive outpatient treatment to patients with addictions and other psychiatric illnesses.
